It won't appear in 2019, but Sony's latest console sounds like it's worth the wait. It supports 8K resolution and features backwards compatibility with PS4 and PSVR games right out of the box. Overall, it sounds like a serious hardware upgrade. I just have to be patient.

Sony has offered the first details on the hardware for the yet-unnamed PS5 console. The system will not be released in 2019, but it will be backward compatible with PlayStation 4 games, as well as with PlayStation VR. Mark Cerny is once again serving as lead system architect on the project.
