I'm pretty weary of installing OS updates for this reason. I don't like messing with something that's working just fine. I prefer to update after the patch has been out for awhile and all the kinks have been identified/worked out.

Sometime last week, I encountered a freeze upon logging in and after a while, the laptop was able to boot well. I have no antivirus programs installed because Windows Defender works just fine!
