It's been a tough year for cyber security and data protection as many businesses were targeted by crooks and failed to inform customers in a timely manner that they were compromised.

It is alarming that data hacking is now on the rise. Who even knew that personal data is normally sold in the black market? Are website owners/administrators partly to blame?

I'm actually surprised at how lightly companies take it when they've been hacked. It happens so often that I fear we're becoming immune to it.
