Every time I read about an application that 'guarantees' total online security, it always looks likes another marketing gimmick. I would assume that a browser that secures your online activity wouldn't suggest avoiding Google for Tor searches?

I understand why some experts recommend avoiding Google, since they track you across the web. I'm not sure about Tor though. Maybe it's because it has leaked user info in the past and is often a target of the law enforcement and government... See more

I remember reading about it when that issue happened with Tor, but I still think Tor is the best tool we have for anonymity. Nothing is foolproof, of course.

It is unfortunate that we have to use Google at most times (by virtue of being the best search engine) and not have the option of our data not being tracked. I will have to try out the Tor browser and see how everything goes.

This article raises a lot of excellent points, but it sure seems like a lot of work just to protect your privacy. I wish our laws were stronger instead.
