It is common for smartphone companies to borrow innovations from each other and I think that this is a trend that will continue in 2019. Whereas I don't mind the notch, I don't pay so much attention to it. Now there could be a battle among smartphone companies to perfect the in-screen camera.

They absolutely copy one another which has to be frustrating for the development team who originally conceived the idea. I'd love to see something innovative for a change. I'd say it's a good time for developers to take some chances.

Rather than copy from each other, it would be great if the developers came up with unique patented innovations. I will not be surprised if foldable phones soon become the order of the day!

I remember when Apple created the first iPhone and it was extraordinary. Now, all smartphones are about the same and Apple is content to rake in the money without going out on a limb. It's a shame.

Now that ever before, developers seem to be constantly working on outdoing each other. Would we then say that the iPhone is the only remaining authentic smartphone brand?
