#Drone deliveries are no longer a thing of the distant future. Customers in Christiansburg, Virginia are part of the test as they receive packages from #Walgreens, #Fedex, and a local gift shop by the name of #SugarMagnolia. The test is going well so far. It feels like exciting things will come from this. #dronedelivery #Google #Wing #Alphabet #AmazonPrimeAir #technews

That was a great article. I especially liked the 80-year-old's enthusiasm for the technology. She seemed so thrilled that she got to experience it in her lifetime.

I picked up on that too. It's nice to see because there's this stereotype that the older generation doesn't understand technology and doesn't want to use it.

It is puzzling as to how far drones have advanced come while self-driving cars seem to have stalled. Then again, there are less humans and planes in the air than there are humans and vehicles on the road so maybe that explains it.

I think self-driving cars have a lot more variables than drones and there is also a lot more at risk than a damaged package. Self-driving cars make me nervous, but I'm all for the drones! Bring them on!

I feel the same way. I actually like driving and I worry about the safety of self-driving cars, but I'm all for drone delivery.

This is incredibly exciting. Imagine needing medical supplies and being able to have them brought by a drone in a few hours. It sure beats dealing with Instacart.

Although the idea is cool, I truly wonder if this will become something that sticks. I think there are many mistakes that could be made, that a human could prevent. But let's see if this takes off.
