It seems like social media is trying to copy things that are popular amongst teens, but in my opinion apps like Music.ly and those lip-sync apps where you can record yourself singing along to a sing, sometimes with the artist, are old news. So why does Facebook want to now try and get into this business?

This could turn into a novelty thing, but that's about it. Facebook seems to have many irons in the fire. It's hard to tell what their main focus is - well, other than data collection.

If the idea is to win back teens who are (probably) mostly on Instagram and/or Snapchat, then this could work in Facebook's favor. To what extent such a move becomes successful is anyone's guess but I believe that there must have been enough... See more
