I would suppose that iPhone's Face ID is more popular, but then Android's face unlock is closing the gap well. Would we now say that this feature is secure enough for transactions?

If you think your eyes should have to be open in order for the unlocking mechanism to work, then Apple's Face ID is better since it meets that requirement. Google's Face Unlock does not.

That is the first thing that crossed my mind, even though the article makes no mention of it. The flaws with the Face Unlock feature of the Pixel 4 mean that Google is yet to match Apple!

I think both the Pixel and iPhone are starting to resemble each other too much. Same thing goes for Samsung's models. The article raises a good point, but at the end of the day, most smartphones are eerily similar.

It is now not uncommon for smartphone companies to copy one another. Is the face unlock feature more secure? It may have its flaws now, but could still be a technology for the future.

It's just speculation since only the Pixel has the technology out of all the Android smartphones. I bet it's more expensive for the manufacturers to include facial recognition capabilities, so I doubt it will be widely adopted. Google's Pixel... See more

I don't think this feature is save enough yet for transactions, purely due to the fact that I've had it happen many times that my phone unlocks when I don't mean to. It can be at a weird angle, or I'll be wearing sunglasses and it unlocks. To... See more
