I'm wondering about the heat build-up with these new GPU's. My desktop's GPU heats up quickly so installed 2 additional fans inside the tower so more air can be circulated and lessen the heat build-up.

I agree with you about the possibility of a heat build-up and I wish that Apple could do something about this. Does the surface on which a device is placed determine the extent of heat build-up?

I don't think there will be an issue regarding the heal build-up. I'm sure the engineers have tested the GPU's before and after installing it in the MacBook Pros. The problem will arise when we use the laptop for gaming then heat build-up will... See more

True in a way because the heat build-up (at most times) results from overworking the processor and so a laptop that isn't specifically designed for gaming could easily heat up. I think that this shouldn't be such a big issue for MacBook pro... See more

Both of you have a point. Still, with that powerful GPU into a small space, then it might heat up when it is used for a long time. I guess the engineers installed something that will cool down the GPU from overheating.
