If you ask me, it's the greed of the company that's hurting their sales. Not too long ago you could get a graphics card for a decent price (under $200). Ever since cryptocurrency became popular and people starting to use cards for mining the price skyrocketed.

I would blame the ability of the smartphones to play online games. I believe that many gamers have migrated into mobile gaming. PC gaming has been already tough with game consoles and now, mobile gaming has taken a big chunk of gamers.
