I'm not surprised Amazon is ending these since Germany ruled that the buttons violated the country's consumer protection laws. I'm not sad to see them go. The buttons symbolized uncontrollable consumerism.

What does the law say about this kind of product? If consumers only use the button to buy regular household items such as the ones mentioned in the article, it seems like the tool saves us from unnecessary trips to the store.

Amazon made way too many buttons for things that aren't very popular or rarely get used up. You weren't assured you were getting the cheapest price on Amazon either.
