While we may think that they have become increasingly irrelevant, desktop PCs are still popular. The lack of portability is the main reason folks moved away from them but in reality, they are still very useful. I have a PC at home that I use for tasks like video and photo editing. I can't see them being completely extinct, anytime soon.

I don't believe desktops will ever completely disappear. They're a favorite of gamers and artists alike due to their large screens and computing power.

I don't have a laptop at home. I have been and always will be a desktop user. I like the ability to upgrade the parts of my computer piece by piece.
