I've never known a single person who used Apple TV or even seen one of the device in real life haha. Perhaps the acquisition of a beloved series will help them get more customers.

You don't need the device to watch Apple TV+.  Or at least I don't think you do.  You can watch on a tablet or computer through the app.

It may be incorrect to underestimate Apple TV's popularity (it is the fifth most popular streaming player). All the same, there's some work to do, if it is to rival the likes of Netflix, that have a huge variety of content.

Do you ever install the betas?

I have never installed the betas, because, to me, it seems suited for the tech nerds. How important are software updates to you? Once in a while, we overlook those notifications, when software updates come along.

I have had many people tell me they install betas and that they really enjoy being able to test out new features before it actually hits the masses, but I feel like I would get too frustrated.

I regularly install beta updates that seem interesting.  It's easy to roll back the update (and the machine if necessary) so why not check out those cool features?

I agree, but rolling back an update can be a tedious and unnecessary process. I avoid the beta updates but ensure that most of my devices run on the latest software versions.

What to expect from CES 2020?

Does anyone keep up with the news surrounding CES? I am reading there will be some companies presenting transparent TVs. What brand represented at CES are you most excited to see? I am hoping Sony will release some PS5 information.

I think it's great for showcasing what might come down the pipeline in the future.  Sometimes the designs are too ambitious and they never make it to market, but it's still neat to see.

The televisions always look spectacular, but it seems that very few of them actually make it to market. It's the same with robotics.  I wonder if we'll see as many robots this year as we did in years past.

More variety in terms of shades

Rumours sometimes have an element of truth to them. A more affordable Galaxy Note 10 model could be in the offing, but in my view, the company should incorporate a wider variety of shades (having just two could be limiting).

I always prefer the plainest colors since it makes it easier to hide the phone away and blend in with a professional work environment.  So color options have little to no impact on my buying decision.

I care much more about having a speedy processing chip and modern camera than I do about the color.  There are countless skins available to change the look of a phone.

It is a good thing to read about many ways of improving the WiFi signal. I had no idea that it is possible to update the router firmware. The usual obvious option for most of us is to relocate the router.

That is an insane price tag for headphones, especially since for less than $200 you can get pretty amazing headphones with fantastic quality. I feel like the brand targets a whole different audience with these.

Did you hear about the Cambridge Analytica whistleblower?

His life must have changed forever after this scandal. Increased scrutiny must have heaped a lot of pressure. He may have become popular, but I guess it hasn't been a smooth sail. Nonetheless, it is great to read that he is focusing his research AI and what the future holds.

What the whistleblower did was noble, and without him, Cambridge Analytica would still be operational. Facebook shouldn't have banned him at all, but it looks like transparency is something most of these companies eschew.

Facebook banned him? Wow, talk about unethical. Legally, how were they allowed to ban him for exposing them? It seems like something that they could get in a lot of trouble for.

To  me, a bigger screen is great for watching movies and reading e-books so I'm all for it.  Plus the price is nice for an Apple device.

I've ordered one simply because of the larger screen.  I figured the rumors about Apple turning out a new basic device would turn out to be untrue, but I'm glad I was wrong.

Are foldable smartphones really smart?

I just don't see the foldable phone thing take off. I understand it is just an idea that these companies have but will it really work? It makes the phones bulky where slim design is so important for portability.

I really want them to work, but I fear you may be right. There are some challenges with the design that seem like they may be insurmountable. I love the idea though and I'm still looking forward to the day I can own one of these.

Everyone expected that Samsung was going to revamp the Galaxy Fold and make it the foldable smartphone of choice. It seems like there is more work to be done here.

It would be disastrous for the company to go ahead with the launch with such concerns making the headlines. My only hope is that when the time comes, the Galaxy Fold will easily fit into any pocket.

It truly seems like this smart phone just won't work.  Samsung has some extraordinarily talented designers, testers, and researchers, so I wonder why they can't make it work well?

To me, it seems like there's a deliberate focus on 'getting there first'. Surely Samsung is a reputable company with a workforce that can design a defect-free device.
