Love nature, but love tech too? Yep that's me. That's why when the time came to build my gaming/work setup, I tried to make the best of both.
Because of dad's recent passing, I had decided to move back to my parent's place to give my mom all the support I can. My dad also loved seeing me build stuff, so this build is also a tribute to him. I had never built anything home-related before, so all these is pretty much a first for me. Thankfully there's Google, and I loved how it turned out. This is for you, Dad!
I already had lots of tech stuff to move back home, so the plan is just to build this gaming/work cave as cheaply as I can. I try to save and reuse things where possible ( the ceiling and wall panels are all recycled from my old cupboard), but I don't scrimp when it comes to the stuff that I feel matter. I outline the plan for each section here. details can be found when you click on the tags.
I was planning to start with a minimalist theme, but I realised that wouldn't be practical with the amount of work I needed to do, the surround sound system I am setting up, and the sound absorption and diffusion I would need. Hence the decision to make a nature/cozy theme. I love nature, and keep a few pets I needed tanks for. So I ended up with the idea of mounting the PC to an alcove in my room, placing a few tanks around, and filling the rest with fake plants.
The end goal is to create a system that would play music on stereo well, and provide complete 5.1 surround immersion for games/movies. With some extra foliage, I managed to hide the rear surround speakers in the Kallax shelves for extra cleaniness points! The design of the room is to minimise flat surfaces as much as possible to break up standing waves while keeping a clean look.
My daily workhorse provides enough computing power for my daily work as a web developer, while still being able to run most modern games at 80-100fps on ultra. I wished I had gone for a custom loop at the start, but it's my first build and I wasn't confident.
A standing desk is something I always wanted. With the long hours I work, sitting too much is just bad for my back. A standing desk is a godsend when it comes to preventing back pain. I bought the frame and got the tabletop custom-made in 200cm x 80cm to fit my needs.
While primarily used for robotic coding and simulations, often the machine idles away to add ambiance to a cozy room. This setup was something I spent many years building, and it's a place I'm honored to call home.
This is my New Room Setup That i created and Designed for a month in April-May 2020 , a Setup that i use for works and almost never used for gaming and doesnt need a high specs PC. what cool about this Room is that its has Smart Home Feature That controlled by Google Nest. A Futuristic Setup need A Smart Home Setup. This Room Mainly DIY by Myself
Fortunate enough to work from home with this setup. This is the latest version of my setup that I have been updating slightly each year since it was built in 2017. i5 7500 x GTX 1070 https://www.instagram.com/theory_96/
This setup that I've created is mainly for work. I own a smaller IT business and currently do a lot of remote work because of human malware, I also create websites, program, and do a bit of graphic design for clients. I run all 4 1080p 60hz monitors off a gtx 1060 so this setup is definitely a more true work oriented setup than it is for gaming despite all the flashy lights lol. Many of my clients have also been forced to work from home so doing what little I can to help them make that transition and this setup is exactly what helps me do that.
If you have any questions or just wanna talk about some tech that I have leave a comment, I'd love to answer back!
Finally, my project of #Cyberjunkproject it finished in this April 2020. This pandemic, im already work from home so i have more time to build this setup with low budget cost. Already start this project, February 2020, and finished this April 2020. Im used some stryrofoams, paper glue, stick bamboo and buy some led RGB strips. It only cost Rp.50.000 ($3.16 USD) for all styrofoams Glue Rp.20.000 ($1,27 USD). I made setup concept for this one using PowerPoint before, so for cut and put styrofoams on the wall was easy. You can see my work here https://scooget.com/ysgeneration/cyberjunk-reratic-setup-in-progress.
For peripherals and gears, im using all peripherals from Logitech, and also my Mousepad was custom with Logitech G in that. Monitor im using from Samsung, the cheapest curved monitor on market. Actually i have 27 inch 165hz monitor from Aorus, but not fit with my setup. For PC components, im using brands for Thermaltake and Asus Republic of Gamer (ROG). Build my mini itx PC with Thermaltake Core P1 Chassis, ROG Strix X470-i, AMD Ryzen 2700X, ROG Strix RTX 2060 OC, G.SKILL 16GB 3600Mhz, PSU Thermaltake ToughPower DPS G RGB 750W.
Maybe workfromhome have benefit to me to build my dream cave like my setup before (I have other setup like this before, different design, but already dismantled because i moved).
