MSI is a well-known manufacturer of gaming machines and they've been around for a while.  Unfortunately, they have a bit of a rep for providing horrible customer service.

Esports gamers usually have their kit specially made and it's often based on sponsorships.  So who is the DDR4 RAM customer?  It would be awesome to get those speeds, but I can't see anyone outside of professional gaming dropping a grand on a... See more

That was a great article.  I especially liked the 80-year-old's enthusiasm for the technology.  She seemed so thrilled that she got to experience it in her lifetime.

It wasn't long ago that most phone owners didn't even bother to password protect their phone.  Why is it treated like such a tragedy now if someone can access it?
Garham
I think some of it has to do with how the companies hype this new technology.  It's talked up as though a fingerprint scanner and facial recognition software are the end-all be-all of security.

I am probably one of the very few people who has no problem with my personal data being out there. I never give super personal or sensitive information like my social security number, and I don't see a problem with my data being out there.
Garham
For some reason it makes me feel uneasy.  I haven't shared anything about myself online that would even matter, but all this data tracking makes me feel like someone is constantly looking over my shoulder.  And they're probably very bored.

It's been a long time since I bought a new game.  Which of the soon to be released games do you guys recommend I try?
Garham
I noticed that you can get the version that can't be modified at a cheaper price, but it's totally worth it to splurge for the one with swappable switches.

Those seem like fantastic earbuds and it looks like they could challenge Apple's AirPods.  I'm glad to see that Huawei bounced back quickly after all those trade war threats.

I like your style and I guess it makes sense not to get your hopes up.   Sometimes I think tech fans (including me) expect the impossible.  I haven't heard of a rental phone company that allows you to upgrade every year.  That's kind of how the... See more

Hey, I've been missing your articles so I'm glad you did another write-up for Scooget.  The portability, reasonable cost, and long battery life of the Switch Lite makes it a game changer in my opinion.

Thanks for sharing this article!  I had no idea that you could get cheaper plane tickets by using a VPN and changing things around.  I'll try that next time.

I didn't expect any of these companies to make any significant changes really.  This is a nice surprise.  I wonder if they're concerned about laws getting passed so they're being proactive in order to head it off.

I wish the Livescribe pen and notebook had been around when I was in school.  I bet it makes taking notes and studying for exams significantly easier.

I need to get one of those smart Brita pitchers.  I always forget to buy filters until it's too late, so I wind up heading to the store for a case of bottled water.  It's a drain on my time and finances and just adds more plastic waste.

I hope everything doesn't move to the cloud.  I do a lot of camping and traveling and can't imagine being tied to an internet connection like that.

I never thought of it that way.  That doesn't get any of them off the hook for paying low wages in sweatshops overseas or for making their products end prematurely so we have to buy a newer model, but I suppose they are doing good too.
Garham
Eh, they would do better if consumers quit buying the stuff.  I think we all like the combination of convenience and decently priced stuff to do much about it.

My niece will go crazy for those Pooh Bear earbuds so I went ahead and  ordered some.  I'm glad you added  them to your collection, @00Kat00.
Garham commented on Which to Buy?

I'll happily buy used tech and pocket my savings when the device comes with a good warranty like what you'd find with Dell and Apple.

Vacuuming is a simple chore and it seems a bit silly and indulgent to buy a robot vacuum, but I'm starting to see the appeal especially for the one in this collection.
Garham
I'm not certain, but from looking at the collection I think it's more about adding nice stuff here and there.  Personally, I'm not buying a watch that  pricey unless it's a Rolex.

That Wacaco Minipresso looks amazing.  I'm another coffee lover who can't go a day without it.  I even pack coffee for trekking and camping.  A device this size looks handy.  I'll be getting one of these so thanks for the idea @Pete205!
Garham
I'm sure it will be popular.  I haven't seen it in person, but in photos it looks cheaply done.  I wonder how durable this version of the Switch is?

I finally figured out that I had to click on the collection tag to see what you were talking about.  The UI would be more intuitive if the collected items were automatically displayed in the window.
Garham
That part does make it hard.  It's also tricky to tell who made the collection in the first place so if I like something, but had some questions about it, I wouldn't know who to ask at first glance.

From the list, I'm going to download Dark Sky next.   Their predictive weather mapping sounds interesting and would be helpful when I'm planning hikes and outdoor sports.

The Oculus Quest is only $400 and with the deal you posted it looks like the Samsung Odyssey is less than $300.  All this competition among VR makers is helping my wallet.

I'm not personally familiar with Huawei's products, but from what I've read, they make some excellent budget phones. I can't imagine that it would be good for our economy if those affordable options went away.  Not when it's more popular than... See more

I'm glad that Alexa will be able to handle more than one request at a time without having to repeat the wake word.  I've never gotten used to saying the name over and over and it was frustrating at times.

I'd say it's more lucrative for HTC to target businesses instead of gamers.  I bet this model will have games made for it eventually,  or a lighter version of this headset will.  One potential issue I see is that it sounds like this headset... See more

Wow, really nice. I definitely want one, though I suspect they'll be even more expensive than a Razer or Alienware machine - and that's really saying something!

Yeah, you know it will cost a pretty penny!  I still want one though.  I tried DIYing a second screen onto my laptop through a well-constructed tutorial on  Instructables.  In theory it was a good idea, but in practice the second screen was... See more

They do appear rather similar.  Do you think this will turn into a big intellectual property lawsuit of some sort?   I'm guessing that Samsung is smarter than to have breached the law so surely not.
Aba1940
To be sincere, I hardly play games on my phone. However, after going through the article, I have settled on 'The Gardens Between' since I have always had a bias for puzzle games.
Garham
Man, I wish I could say the same Aba1940.  I keep thinking that I should listen to an educational podcast during my morning bus ride, but I'm unable to resist the fun that is Cure Hunter.  I blame the Zombies. . . and my lack of willpower.

I think Huawei will be hurt more simply because big companies like Google have cut their contracts with the company.  I'm anxious to see what Huawei's strategy will be moving forward.
Garham
I'm incredibly interested to see where this goes.  I hope Samsung really has made the appropriate corrections because the company will get roasted if consumers spend that much on a phone that fails.
