Maybe it's a bad idea to rely on facial recognition software and other forms of biometric authentication systems to protect personal phones from prying eyes? #Google's newest smartphone, the #Pixel4, can be unlocked even if your eyes are closed. #Samsung's most popular phones have a bug that lets people bypass the thumbprint scanner with any old thumbprint. Samsung is already working on a fix, although it is taking them a long time to produce it. I'm sure Google will create a fix as well. They don't ship until October 24th so it might not affect many people before the fix is ready.

It could be a big problem if you're cheating and your other half decides to snoop through your Pixel phone. Imagine being a hard sleeper and waking up to a furious person who took advantage of the bug.

I believe Google has a patch on the way to take care of the issue. I'm not particularly bothered by it, I can understand why others are.
