Well, the article doesn't make a strong case as to whether shutting down a computer makes a huge difference. There is no reason to leave it on when not in use, unless there is a download running, for instance. I would be worried about the eventual battery life of a PC that is never shut down.
Take a peek at just how much money these companies are making off their antivirus software products. Fear of loss yielding profits is certainly nothing new, but I wonder if anyone has considered exactly where these viruses come from and how disproportionate the system is. Most black hat programmers double as legitimate software developers or security experts in their day jobs. For me this begs the question if they create the viruses simply to fuel the security industry in the first place.
I'm pretty weary of installing OS updates for this reason. I don't like messing with something that's working just fine. I prefer to update after the patch has been out for awhile and all the kinks have been identified/worked out.
If you ask me, it's the greed of the company that's hurting their sales. Not too long ago you could get a graphics card for a decent price (under $200). Ever since cryptocurrency became popular and people starting to use cards for mining the price skyrocketed.

Do you think that the wider the monitor screen that is better than shorter screens? I haven't tried using such a monitor, but I did experience using a curved monitor. It was awkward at first, but it becomes really good after getting used to it.
